I'm bringing you some info on the Old Crow Audio JamUp Pro XT - Guitar Amp & Effects Plug-in. It is an accuracy of this classic tube amp, right down to its most minute details, that sets it apart from other amp emulation plugins. The plugin accurately models the electronically controlled power amplifier stage found in all tube amps, which creates its signature 'crunch' tone. The power amp modeling of the JamUp Pro XT is based on vintage American and British amplifiers like Fender's '57 Twin Reverb and Marshall's JMP Superlead 100W (after 1974). To give this amp its classic tone, Old Crow Audio painstakingly measured the actual components that go into a tube amp, including the capacitors and resistors that make up each part of the circuitry. In doing so, they have created a plugin that is deliberately static – it captures the tone of a particular amplifier as if it's being played right now. This is in stark contrast to other plugins which aim to capture a stereo image of a real-life recording space which can be manipulated to taste. The result is a sound that reflects this amp's sonic characteristics more accurately than any other plugin on the market. The Old Crow Audio JamUp Pro XT features 2 amp models. The "Top Box" equipment consists of a crunchy 12AX7 preamp tube, a bright 12AT7 power amp tube, and a bright 12AU7 cabinet resonance control tubes. The "Bottom Box" equipment consists of a bright 12AU7 input buffer tube, a black-logical transformer with a high value capacitor across the secondary winding, and another bright 12AU7 power amplifier tube. In addition, the Bottom Box includes another black-logical transformer with a low value capacitor across the secondary winding, which has been designed to provide a second boost of gain. The outputs from both Bottom Box transformers are split into two different channels – one channel drives the clean signal of the guitar into an Old Crow Audio B5 preamp tube and the other channel drives the dirty signal from a V2 power amp tube. The Old Crow Audio JamUp Pro XT features a three-band EQ circuit based on what is known as a 'blend' type EQ. Essentially it is a way of getting more control over the building of yourtone by tweaking frequencies beyond those you would normally be tweaking on an equalizer plugins as standard. This type of EQ is based on a preamp tube that is designed to produce a lot of gain, but a very small amount of frequency range. This allows the user to adjust the levels of low mid and high frequency signal, thereby producing a wide variety of tonal variations. In addition to this, the plugin features a suite of built-in guitar effects such as delay, reverb and chorus. The delay comes in the form of a tape echo effect featuring multi-head tape delays, tape saturation and feedback controls. The reverb has been modeled after an Ampeg B-15 tube combo amplifier from 1967 – one which was used by Jimmy Page for much of Led Zeppelin's first two albums. cfa1e77820
